They gave up right before it took off.
How often have you heard this? So often people work and work on something, investing time, money and energy, only to give out right before it really takes off. If you study those who have been very successful or inventors who have created amazing things, you will find several key elements that tend to be common among all of them:
- They had many stops and starts along the way
- The path was not smooth
- There were many failures and missteps along the way
- They would analyze their mistakes or missteps and use that to push them in a different direction
- They used the data from missteps to make corrections and tweaks to make the product or service even better
- They never gave up
- They persisted
Everyone wants success to be smooth sailing and for that idea to pop right out of the air and be an overnight success. And on rare occasions that may happen. But overwhelmingly a key element to success has been persistence. Pushing past the odds. Working longer than others. Not letting missteps or failures get in their way.
So push past the fatigue, boredom, naysayers and frustrations. Keep moving, tweaking and refining until it hits!
